Behind the 8 Ball

Yes, I AM River! Now, I'm already 18 months old, so excuse me for being a little behind the proverbial 8 ball in getting this whole blogging adventure off the ground. I've been a little busy.

I was born at 6:26 on 7/27, which is already pretty cool. In 2010, which is 10 years AFTER my dad used to think he would already be ancient when he was a kid. Some nimrod did something wrong when they cut my cord, so I wound up stuck in the doggone hospital for about 11 days with mom and all these IV's sticking out of my arm and head and what not. I guess I was fortunate to not have been born in a 3rd world country, where lots of babies die from umbilical cord infections.

I'll catch up on the past 18 months a little in each blog, but let me just let you in on what the heck i'm up to RIGHT NOW!

Totally digging the new ability to walk up and down the stairs. Walk is a euphemism for crawl or stumble, but dude, I'm 18 months old so cut some slack.

I'm smiling most of the time, as usual, but especially when i'm proud of my self for something (like the new "stairs" thing.)

I count, and not like any ole' baby. I can count up to about 2 or 4, or 8 or 10, depending on what it is that I'm counting (some things are much more interesting than others, granting them the extended attention span.)

I like saying things, A LOT. Alligator is a recent fave. FYI, it should be pronounced Ahgaiter, the way I say it. Dad thinks that looking at me and showing me how the L is pronounced by exaggerating the tongue off the roof of the mouth trick is instructional...cracks. me. up.

When someone asks me what something is and I'm not sure, or i'm tired of indulging their insatiable need to confirm my intelligence, I just say "Oh" and that generally gets them off my back.

I like relplying "Yes" to many things. I know, I know, it is contrary to the public image portrayed by the baby in the Jimmy Fallon ad that says "NO!" to everything and throws cheerio's at people. Just so you know, if anyone asks ME if I want 50% more cash. The answer is an overwhelming "YES!" Just Sayin',... not all babies have it together in financial matters, apparently.

I'm digging on You Tube right now. "The Phonics Song" rocks. I was really into "The Animal Song" recently, but I'm over it now. I give creds to The Animal Song, though, because it is how I was introduced to the very cool vibe of "Kids TV 123" and the mad spins of A.J. Jenkins. That dude says "Ball" better than anyone... "B B Bool". How much does that ROCK? And it's TOTALLY Zebra, not ZEEEEBRA the way Mom and Dad say it. Jeez. Us Yanks definitely have some pronunciation issues, but we think its everyone else! And the way they say Z as in "Zed". Forget about it. Didn't you see pulp fiction A.J.? Zed's Dead dude.
LOL's across the board. Here's a link if you haven't figured out search yet:

So, that's it for now.
Riv out.
